2017 Ginger Girvin Run

It is a fun-filled day for Students, Teachers, Parents and Our Sea Crest Community.

Running for a Great Cause!

Every student will be given a “bib” on the day of the Girvin Run. It will have the student's name on it and as the students run a lap, a parent volunteer will stamp the bib. Each stamp will represent one lap completed. Students will run for 20-30 minutes depending on grade level. At the end of the run, students will go to the hospitality table. There they will get a healthy snack and a drink.  The 5th graders will also be selling popsicles, so don’t forget to bring money to have an ice cold treat.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come and cheer on our amazing runners! Below is the schedule for the day.

Girvin Run Schedule:
K-2: 12:30 pm - 12:50 pm (20 minutes)

3-5: 1:15 pm - 1:40 pm (25 minutes)

6-8: 2:15 pm - 2:45 pm (30 minutes)

All runners will get a "feet" necklace after the race.  They will get a colored "foot" for each lap they ran.

Attire

Be sure to wear your Scholarship Run t-shirt (distributed that day prior to the run), comfortable shoes and clothing, sunscreen, along with sunglasses and a hat or other sun protection. Who knows you may need to bring rain gear too, so come prepared.  This is a rain or shine event!

Volunteer

This event will not be complete without our amazing Sea Crest families support.  We will need a lot of volunteers to help run this year’s event.  You can sign up to help on Track it Forward or by contacting: Jennifer Hill at jenn.justin@yahoo.com or Sarah Griego Guz at sgriego@gmail.com

Tips for Raising Money

Don't forget to ask everyone you know to support you in the Ginger Girvin Scholarship Run.  Any amount can make a difference! Ask not only your family and friends, but your neighbors, your parents co-workers, and others you interact with regularly. See DoJiggy's Participant Fundraising Library for fundraising ideas and tips, sample letters, a detailed User Guide to the Participant Control Panel, and more!
